1. Please post (at minimum) your characters name(s) (both super and secret, if you have them), age, power, appearance, and occupation/job in your profile. You don't have to post everything in the application since not everyone wants text-heavy profiles.

2. Make use of the Location option when posting!

3. You can have multiple characters (even your own Hero/Villain & Sidekick/Henchman duo!), but you must have and use your first character enough for the next character to be approved.

4. Be active! School is starting up soon for some people, so not posting due to heavy loads of classwork is understandable. But if you haven't posted for at least a month, your character will be dropped. You will have the opportunity to reclaim your character within a set timeframe, but if you don't, your character will be killed. Bad Horse shows no mercy and takes no prisoners.

5. No OOC comments in the community, please! Keep that to the OOC community: neworange_ooc

6. It's not necessarily a rule, but it would be nice if your character did more than heroic/villainous deeds. Remember, your secret identity is at least half of your character's life. So please, have fun with that dynamic!

7. No Sue's, Stu's, and/or godmodding. We're going to try and weed them out by being strict on powers in the application process, but if someone gets through and suddenly becomes a powerhouse, you will get only one warning (two, if the problem is only minor).

8. No drama, please. If you and another player have some kind of problem with one another, please don't bring it into the RP or OOC community. If you have a problem, please come to a mod about it if you think that they can fix it.

9. You can drop characters, but you have to post as them at least once before you can do so. If you do, please let us know, why, and how you'd like for them to be dropped. The options are endless! (At least until you get to death, haha)

10. If you have a major plot in mind (like a Death Ray, perhaps?), please contact a mod at least 24 hours beforehand to get the OK.

11. When you apply, to prove that you read these rules, please add the first part of the keyword -- Laundry -- into the title of your application email. The second part is in the FAQ.

Q: Why "New Orange?"

A: Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog is set in Los Angeles, California, but that would have added some complications to the RP since I have no idea what LA is like. And trying to get everything accurate would have just been too much of a hassle, so setting it in a fictional city made more sense.

Q: No, why the name New Orange?

A. Ah haha, well.. I wanted to set it in a city like New York City, since the vast majority of superhero comics take place in NYC or in fake-NYC's (i.e. Gotham City). I did a little research and found out that in August 1673, the Dutch Republic reclaimed New York (at the time New Netherland), and renamed it to New Orange. In November 1674, of course, it was ceded permanently to the English. It may have only been a year, but New York City was once New Orange, and it sounded silly enough to use for this RP!

Q: Can I apply to be a character in Dr. Horrible?

A: No, sorry. I'm only allowing Bad Horse and Captain Hammer, but they'll only be used by mods (and as leaders/spokespersons of The Evil League of Evil and The Association of Heroes). The point of this RP is to have fun and make your own heroes and villains. Plus, Dr. Horrible and Penny live in LA. :P

Q: Wait, at the end of the series, Captain Hammer was out of commission!

A: The RP is set before the events of Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, probably by a few years.

Q: Can I apply to be a character from a comic book series/TV show?

A: No and no. D: Original characters only! You can have a character that maybe has the same powers, but I don't want any clones of Heroes characters or the Green Lantern, Aquaman, etc. showing up. What's the fun in that anyways?

Q: What's the deal with the Henchmen and Sidekicks? How does it work?

A: The Henchmen and Sidekick Guilds are connected to the Evil League and Association of Heroes, and can be assigned to a Hero/Villain as a partner (even if they're not parts of either organization yet). If you want a partner, there is a part of the application that you can request one. If so, I will give you a list of potential characters to partner up with and it will be up to you to organize it from there (also, if you and a friend arranged it beforehand, you can request to be partnered with someone). I won't assign partners unless asked to. Henchmen/Sidekicks also don't need a partner and be solo, but they won't have the freedom to be heroic/villainous on their own (if they want to do that, they should have applied as a Hero/Villain).

Q: Does my Hero/Villain need a secret identity?

A: I would advise it, yes. In Captain Hammer's case, he doesn't need one because he's so famous (and his ego thrives off of that) and he's powerful enough to fend off any villains who go after him. But remember you're a no-name Hero/Villain, rising to fame or infamy. Your secret identity is your greatest protection.

Q: But it says on the application I don't need a mask or anything. How is my identity protected?

A: We're going to assume that Civvies can't notice these things (no offense, civilians!) I mean, how has no one figured out that Clark Kent = Superman? I MEAN REALLY?

When you apply, please put the second half of the keyword -- Day -- into the title of your email. If you got the first half, they'll form a two word phrase.
